A lot of phones these days come with camera bumps to house the larger lenses and sensors. Unfortunately, this added protrusion also means that our devices are more prone to damage, as demonstrated in the video below by Jerry Rig Everything where they test the durability of the Pixel 7 Pro’s camera bump.
For those who want the TL:DR, basically it seems that the camera bump is quite prone to scratches, especially if you put it inside of your pocket where there might be keys or coins. Given the fact that the bump has been highly polished, it means that these scratches can become very apparent, especially if the phone has been scratched up sufficiently.
Is this a bad thing? For those who don’t really care about the looks and more its functionality, this is a non-issue, but for those who love keeping their tech as pristine as possible, then you might want to consider investing in some protective cases for your Pixel 7 Pro that will be able to cover up that bump.
If you have about 10 minutes to spare, you can check out Jerry Rig Everything’s full video above where they walk through all the different durability tests that they put the phone through.
