Thanks to the introduction of wearables, it has changed the way we interact with our mobile devices. Most wearables now let you receive notifications on your wrist for things like incoming messages, phone calls, and more, letting you answer or reply messages from your smartwatch instead of your phone.
If you own a Fitbit device and would love to be able to use your wearable as a navigational tool, then you might be interested to learn that according to 9to5Google, it appears that Google has brought Google Maps onto the device.
The report claims that launching the Fitbit app will now show users a new Google Maps tile, where users can tap on it to begin the setup process. Unfortunately, it seems that maybe the feature isn’t completely live yet because based on tier testing, it isn’t fully integrated into the app yet and that users only have access to Auto-start settings.
We’re not sure if this is a bug or if maybe Google hasn’t unlocked all the features for users yet, or if maybe this is simply a limitation of the app for Fitbit devices. Either way, it still does add some level of convenience if you want to use your Fitbit smartwatch to use with Google Maps.
