Pokemon GO’s popularity through the years has become nothing short of impressive, with the mobile spin-off game hosting a ton of events all-year round. With that said, the team behind the game has announced an upcoming New Year’s event to end 2022, with some special surprises in store.
As per the game’s preview for the event:
“Trainers,
As we come to the close of another eventful year of exploration, let’s start the next one off right—with a New Year’s celebration event in Pokémon GO!
This year, our New Year’s party features Pokémon decked in their sparkly best, a new avatar item and pose, and more! Let’s GO…right into 2023!”
With that said, the event is to take place on Saturday, December 31, 2022, at 8:00 p.m. to Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at 8:00 p.m. local time. Trainers should keep an eye out for Pokemon with special holiday-themed outfits.
Additionally, a couple of new avatar items will be available at the in-game shop during (and after) the event, which will include a Pikachu Party Hat and Party Popper Pose. Other items such as event stickers will also be available for purchase, and players can also expect a colorful display with some special-themed fireworks during the event.
