Phones like Google’s Pixel series has features like Night Sight which take some pretty awesome photos even at night when light isn’t so readily available. This has since prompted other phone makers to introduce something similar of their own.
This is why it doesn’t really come as a surprise to learn that for the Samsung Galaxy S23, Samsung could be looking to step up its night photography game. This is according to a tweet from Ice Universe who claims that Samsung could improve the night photography on its upcoming flagship.
I need to emphasize again that the S23 Ultra's night camera is really "night vision"

According to Ice Universe, they claim that night photography on the Galaxy S23 is really “night vision”. We’re not sure what that really means yet since the phone hasn’t been officially announced, but presumably it could mean that Samsung will be looking to improve on its camera capabilities either through new camera hardware or better software.
Night photography on smartphones has always been kind of a sticking point due to the size of the sensor and the size of the camera’s aperture. This is versus more traditional cameras who have larger sensors which can let more light through. To combat this, smartphone makers have relied on software and AI to help with the processing.
Samsung will most likely announce the Galaxy S23 in February so we should have more details in the coming weeks.
