If you’re a fan of Square Enix’s Dragon Quest franchise, mobile games, and PVP titles in general, then you might want to check out the latest spin-off entry in the series – titled “Dragon Quest Champions,” the new game is headed to mobile gaming platforms, with beta testing set to begin soon.
More specifically, the beta test runs from February 6-13, although there’s a limited timeframe for players who want to sign up for the beta, which ends on January 29. A collaborative effort between Square Enix and KOEI tecmo, the game incorporates several familiar elements from the Dragon Quest games, including combat and exploration, as well as role-playing elements found in the mainline titles. There’s also a heavy emphasis on online PVP battles, something that strikes us a s unsurprising, given mobile gaming’s shift to online play.
Square Enix’s Dragon Quest franchise is one of the company’s many video game IPs to make its way to Android, in addition to its massively-popular Final Fantasy franchise. With that said, the game is currently available in Japan, although we still have to wait and see if Square Enix decides to launch it in more regions in the future.
