A post by Kuba Wojciechowski shows the TicWatch Pro 5 in all its Wear OS glory, sporting a near-similar design to the brand’s current flagship smartwatch, the TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra. The device was first revealed some months ago through a post from Mobvoi themselves, although there has yet to be a “formal” announcement of sorts regarding its full specs sheet.
Owing to tradition, Mobvoi has skipped out on a “number four” model, instead jumping straight to number 5. The company was among the first few brands to announce devices which will sport Qualcomm’s newest smartwatch platforms. This latest post also confirms that Wear OS 3 will come pre-loaded on the device, which is a much-welcome addition in terms of software functionality.
Qualcomm’s W5 Gen 1 and W5+ Gen 1 feature upgrades with performance, power efficiency, and more. They will succeed the company’s older Wear 4100 chipset, which itself has been used in several smartwatches. It’s very likely that other brands might announce upcoming wearable devices for 2023, especially with new improvements to Wear OS as a platform.
