The rise of dedicated cloud-gaming handhelds has seen no slow-down in the past year, with major players like Logitech and Razer each introducing their own take on portable game-streaming hardware. As a result, we’ve seen a resurgence of sorts with the dedicated portable gaming market, and a new player is looking to join the ranks.
More specifically, “Abxylute” – a new startup company – is currently running a crowdfunding campaign for a dedicated cloud gaming handheld, which will go for $249. The device will come with a 7-inch LCD screen with a 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution and 60 Hz refresh rate, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of expandable storage. Based on the promotional photos, it will also come with a full array of controls
Powering the device is a MediaTek genio 350 chipset, which comes with four 2 GHz ARM Cortex-A53 CPU cores, Mali-G52 graphics, and support for WiFi 5 and Bluetooth 5.1. Of course, aside from its marketing spiel of being able to run cloud gaming apps, it will also be able to run native Android games, as well as emulate older systems.
No formal launch date has been given yet for the device, although we imagine more information will be made available later this year.
