With February finally upon us, we’re bound to get a new dose of tech once the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona kicks off. As such, Honor has teased the global launch of the Honor Magic Vs, its flagship foldable device, as well as the Honor Magic5 during the event, which will take place via an online stream on February 27, 2023.
While the Magic Vs has technically been made available a few months back, this “first release” was exclusive to Chinese markets. With this announcement however, Honor is finally releasing the device to global markets, in a bid to compete with other foldables from brands like Samsung and Huawei.
The growing demand for foldable Android devices has led to many manufacturers developing their own take on foldables, although arguably Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold line ranks among the most popular on the market.
In terms of hardware, the Honor Magic Vs features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset with 8GB or 12GB RAM, up to 512GB storage, and a 6.45-inch display on the outside. Of course, there’s an inner display which measures 7.9-inches, and includes a 120Hz refresh rate. The phone also comes with a 54MP Sony IMX800 sensor for its main camera, a 50MP ultrawide and macro camera, and an 8MP 3X Optical Zoom Camera.
As for the Magic5, not much is known about the hardware, but we can expect three phones powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. With all that being said however, we’re bound to find out all the details once Honor’s event goes live.
