Nokia Unveils its New Logo at MWC 2023

Nokia is certainly up there when it comes to household names, having built a legacy for itself over the past decades, with a very storied history. It seems like the company is moving towards a new age, following an announcement made during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

The company announced via Twitter that it’s introducing a new logo, featuring a more minimal look all over. The new logo is a big departure from the “classic” Nokia logo, which has graced the company’s products and branding since time immemorial. Regarding the change, Pekka Lundmark, President and CEO of Nokia states:

“We see the potential of digital to transform business, industry and society with an opportunity for significant gains in productivity, sustainability and accessibility. Our market-leading critical networking technology is increasingly needed by customers and partners in every industry. We see a future where networks go beyond connecting people and things. They’re adaptable, autonomous and consumable. They are networks that sense, think and act, and they maximize the opportunity of digitalization.

Today we share our updated company and technology strategy with a focus on unleashing the exponential potential of networks – pioneering a future where networks meet cloud. To signal this ambition we are refreshing our brand to reflect who we are today – a B2B technology innovation leader. This is Nokia, but not as the world has seen us before.”

This change comes as part of an updated company and technology strategy which forms part of its planned long-term transformation – this includes market share growth, continuing to invest in R&D, and implementing new business models to name a few.

With all that being said though, it seems that the company will maintain the older logo for its handsets, at least for the time being.
