iOS exclusive GoodNotes is finally making its way onto Android

When it comes to apps, most of the time developers tend to create apps for both iOS and Android. There are times when some apps might be exclusive to one platform, such as GoodNotes which is a highly-rated productivity app that has remained exclusive to the iOS platform for the longest time ever.

The good news for Android users is that if you have always felt a bit envious of iOS users who have had access to the app, you’ll be pleased to learn that the developers of GoodNotes have announced that they will be bringing the app onto Android devices.

Keep in mind that right now, GoodNotes for Android is in beta and there are some limitations to it. For example, as noted on its website, it is only available to users who own Samsung tablets with displays larger than 8-inches, and have at least 3GB of memory. Another thing to keep in mind is that in its current form, GoodNotes for Android is a Progressive Web App, as noted by some users on Reddit.

Essentially this means that the app itself is kind of a wrapper for the web version of GoodNotes. The upside is that it makes it easier to port the app over onto other platforms, but the downside is that it won’t be able to fully take advantage of Android and might not be as optimized.

We can only hope that further down the road the developers will eventually create a native Android version, but for now, this is what we’ll have to put up with.
