Remember the good old days of the feature phone like the Nokia 3310? Back then, battery life wasn’t really something we had to worry too much about as the phone could last us for days on end without breaking a sweat. This is versus modern day smartphones which barely get us through the day, let alone a week.
In an attempt to solve that problem, Redditor u/Downtown_Cranberry44 decided to take matters into their own hands by taking their Galaxy A32 5G smartphone and modding it by strapping a 30,000mAh battery onto the phone. For context, the Galaxy A32 5G comes with a base battery of 5,000mAh, so with its new 30,000mAh battery, it is reported to have lasted a little over a week on a single charge.

Now, this mod is by no means elegant and it is pretty straightforward as it basically takes a 30,000mAh battery and slaps it onto the back of the phone, creating a brick-like device that looks rather chunky and heavy. According to the creator of the mod, charging the phone took about 7 hours which is pretty crazy, but then again, seeing as you’d only have to charge it once a week, it’s not too bad all things considered.
While this isn’t a mod we would recommend you to try for yourself, especially as 9to5Google notes that you can’t even bring it onto a flight as the TSA only allows a max of 27,000mAh when it comes to batteries, it is a pretty cool mod and we can only hope that one day, we’ll have much better batteries in our phones.
