Are you excited to see what Google has in store for the rest of 2023 in terms of both hardware and software? Then you might be interested to learn that Google has since confirmed that I/O 2023 will be taking place on the 10th of May.
At this point in time it is unclear what Google will be showing off at the event, but based on past I/O events, we can probably expect a bit of a mix in both the hardware and software front.
In terms of hardware, there is a chance we might be shown the Google Pixel 7a, a cheaper variant of the Pixel 7 from 2022. We might also see some new Nest smart home products and also maybe updates to the Chromecast lineup. As for software, we suppose the most obvious candidate would be Android 14.
Google already announced the Developer Preview earlier this year, but I/O is probably where it will be officially unveiled and where Google will talk more about the upcoming changes, new features, and improvements that they will be making to the Android platform. We can also probably expect some announcements related to Chrome OS, to Google Search, and also maybe other projects Google will be working on.
Also, there is a chance Google might take this opportunity to elaborate more on what they are doing on the AI front. The company previously announced Bard as its answer to ChatGPT and Microsoft’s AI-powered Bing, but maybe the event will see them talk more about the future of the company’s AI efforts.
For those who are keen, you can go ahead and register for the event via Google’s website.
