One of the strengths of Google’s Pixel devices is that they occasionally get new features which improve on the pre-loaded software functionality that comes shipped with the phones. As such, Google has announced the first feature drop for its Pixel devices, which arrive with some much-welcome updates. The company previously added Fall Detection for the Pixel Watch, and these new feature drops bring some new upgrades for Google’s Android handsets.
Originally a feature that shipped with the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro, faster Night Sight Photo processing has finally arrived for the older Pixel 6 series, arriving with some optimizations by way of Google’s Tensor chipset. Magic Eraser is now available as well for older Pixel devices, which lets users remove unwanted subjects in photographs. It should be noted that the feature is also available on other devices connected to Google One account subscriptions.
Other features include “Direct my Call” which is now available for the Pixel 4a, allowing users to bypass long menu options when contacting businesses, Google Health Connect which allows users to store, connect and share the data from compatible health and fitness apps, At a Glance updates that now show the countdown on a user’s Pixel phone simultaneously with compatible Nest devices, and Dual eSIM wirh Dual SIM standby for the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro.
