The majority of smartphones these days use a combination of materials in their construction. We typically see the use of materials such as plastic, aluminum, stainless steel, and in some cases, even ceramic. But it looks like OnePlus wants to take things to the next level with a special version of the OnePlus 11, the Jupiter Edition.
“If you want to mass-produce it on mobile phones, you need to develop a new production line from 0 to 1 to produce it. Due to the extremely difficult processing of the material, a brand-new process and production line are adopted, resulting in the production efficiency of this material being only 1/4 of that of glass, and the yield is only 1/2 of that of glass.”
We’re not sure what the end result will look like or how it will feel, but it is rather intriguing. The OnePlus 11 Jupiter Edition is expected to be unveiled on the 29th of March, so we should have more details then. There is also no word on whether or not this version will be launched outside of China, so we’ll have to wait and see.
