ASUS ROG Phone 7 and 7 Ultimate take mobile gaming to the next level!
Last year, ASUS took the wraps off its latest gaming smartphones in the form of the ROG Phone 6. For those who love the company’s series of gaming handsets, you might be interested to learn that ASUS has since announced its latest devices, the ASUS ROG Phone 7 and the ROG Phone 7 Ultimate.
Given that there are two configurations, let’s just start with their similarities. Under the hood, both models will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. They will also feature up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage. Both handsets will also feature a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 165Hz refresh rate, faster than the majority of phones out there.
The cameras are also similar on both devices, where it will feature a 50MP main shooter that uses a Sony IMX766 sensor, a 13MP ultrawide angle with a 120-degree field of view, and a 5MP macro, with a 32MP front-facing shooter to top things off. Both phones will also come with a 6,000mAh battery with support for 65W HyperCharge.
For the most part it sounds like both the ROG Phone 7 and ROG Phone 7 Ultimate are quite similar in terms of specs, so what’s the difference? With the Ultimate model, it actually features what ASUS calls the AeroActive portal that opens up to allow air to flow directly onto the vapor chamber, which means that in theory, it should offer up better thermals which will help in terms of performance as well as battery life.
ASUS will also include a new AeroActive Cooler 7 fan accessory attachment in the Ultimate packaging, which also boasts a subwoofer with a 13*38mm speaker, improving the overall audio performance for the phone.
Both models will also feature AirTrigger ultrasonic shoulder controls that might come in handy for certain mobile games, and the built-in vibration motor should also deliver a more realistic haptic feedback when using onscreen controls.
