Every year, Samsung makes some changes and improvements to its phones, and its foldables are no exception and we can expect the usual bout of upgrades in the Fold 5 and Flip 5 handsets this year.
For those who are excited for the phones and are thinking of picking either one up for themselves, you might be interested to learn that a report out of Korea is claiming that the devices will be launching earlier than expected.
This corroborates an earlier report in which it was suggested that Samsung could be worried about Google’s own foldables launching and are thus moving up the schedule for their own foldables. The report claims that we might be able to expect the two new phones in July, which is about a month or so earlier than previous launches which usually take place in August during the year.
In terms of upgrades, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 is not expected to bring about any particular major upgrades apart from the usual new chipset, but the Flip 5 could see the introduction of a massive new external display, going from 1.9-inches in the previous model to 3.4-inches in the new one.
Suffice to say that this should be taken with a grain of salt, but if the July launch dates are to be believed, we won’t have to wait much longer for the details.
