HTC has had one foot out the door of the smartphone market for the longest time ever. Ever since Google bought HTC’s design team all those years ago, the company hasn’t really been releasing phones on a steady basis unlike its competitors, but they do surprise every now and then with a new handset.
In fact, the company has recently announced their latest smartphone that comes in the form of the HTC U23 Pro. This is a mid-ranger with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset under the hood that is accompanied by 8-12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage out of the box. This storage can be further expanded via the use of a microSD card.
The display of the phone measures 6.7-inch and sports a Full HD+ resolution with an OLED panel and a 120Hz refresh rate. On the back of the phone you will be able to find a quad camera setup, which is kind of surprising as many companies are still rocking the triple camera setup.
This includes a 108MP main shooter that supports OIS, an 8MP ultrawide, a 5MP macro, and a 2MP depth sensor. The phone will run on Android 13 and will also be preinstalled with the VIVERSE app and will play nicely with HTC’s VIVE XR Elite mixed reality headset. The HTC U23 Pro is priced starting at around $550 and for now, it appears to only be available for purchase in Taiwan.
