You can now test Google’s Magic Compose AI feature
Google’s focus during I/O 2023 was mostly about AI, and how the company is developing various AI tools to integrate into its products and services. One of those AI features is Magic Compose that will be making its way into Google Messages.
The feature isn’t live yet, but if you are curious and want to take it for a spin, you’ll be interested to learn that Google will be rolling out a beta with limited availability so that eligible beta testers will be able to check it out before it eventually makes its way to the masses.
For those unfamiliar with Magic Compose, it is like a souped up version of Gmail’s suggested replies. It will use generative AI to help come up with responses for your conversations in the Google Messages app, thus saving you time when you’re replying to more generic messages and don’t want to have to type everything out.
The feature is expected to go live for the public this summer, but like we said, those who participate in the beta get to try it out before everyone else, which will help Google refine the feature further and work out the kinks ahead of launch.
