The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 won’t be as fragile as its predecessor
Samsung is expected to officially announce their next-gen series of foldable phones in the not-so-distant future. One of the devices in question is the Galaxy Z Flip 5, which according to a tweet by tipster Ahmed Qwaider, will apparently be built to be more durable than its predecessor.
According to the tweet, apparently the phone will see a 30% increase in Flex Mode, a 45% improvement in design, and also overall durability is said to be increased by 50%. These numbers don’t really tell us which so we’ll just have to wait and see what Samsung has to say about these. The tweet also claims that the phone is capable of surviving around 200,000 openings and closings, which is pretty much on par with the previous model.

Qwaider also shared some specs of the phone, which includes a 6.7-inch AMOLED inner foldable display with a refresh rate of 120Hz, Gorilla Glass Victus 2 as its display cover of choice, an IPX8 rating when it comes to water-resistance, and the use of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset.
It is also said to pack a larger 3.4-inch external display and a 3,700mAh battery with 25W charging. Take all this with a pinch of salt for now but with Samsung apparently planning its next Unpacked event in July, we won’t have to wait too long for the official details.
