Honor Magic V2 teased ahead of July 12 announcement

Last year, Honor launched its new foldable phone in the form of the Honor Magic Vs. There was a lot we liked in our review of the handset, including its premium and solid design, an impressive chipset, and its massive battery, just to name a few. But it wasn’t necessarily the perfect device, but Honor thinks that they’re getting close.

The company has revealed a teaser image for its upcoming new foldable, the Honor Magic V2, which is expected to be officially announced on the 12th of July in Shanghai, China. According to the poster’s title, it says “From progress to evolution”, suggesting that we can look forward to some major changes in the handset over its predecessor.

The specs of the phone haven’t been officially announced yet, but based on the rumors, we can expect that the phone will be powered by either the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 or Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. It seems that Honor could potentially be giving users the option, with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 presumably being the cheaper version.

It is also rumored to be packing as much as 16GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage. The display is also said to be upgraded to a 2K LTPO panel with high-frequency dimming. There is no mention of the size so it might be safe to assume that it’ll be keeping to the current size and that we won’t expect it to get bigger.

Either way, take it with a grain of salt for now, but we should have all the official details next week so check back with us then for more info.
