OnePlus Nord 3 launched with three years of promised updates

When OnePlus first launched their Nord series of phones, the after sales support in terms of software updates weren’t that great for some phones. Some models only received 1 year’s worth of updates, which is honestly kind of shameful since two years is pretty much the bare minimum these days.

OnePlus has come a long way since then, especially with its latest smartphone, the OnePlus Nord 3, which the company says will come with a promised three years worth of OS updates. This means that the handset should receive updates all the way up to Android 17 at the very least.

In terms of hardware, since this is a Nord phone, there’s nothing particularly surprising. It comes with a 6.7-inch 120Hz display with a 2772×1240 resolution, and under the hood, it will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chipset. Its RAM has also been upgraded from 12GB to 16GB, along with its battery which is now 5,000mAh and supports 80W wired charging.

On the camera side of things, not much has changed. The OnePlus Nord 3 will still use the same 50MP main sensor as its predecessor, which will be accompanied by an 8MP ultrawide and a 2MP macro.

Don’t get us wrong, while there’s nothing particularly exciting about these specs, they are very decent and a huge upgrade over its predecessor, so if you’re shopping on a budget, this is actually incredible value for money. It will be priced starting at €449 and will initially be available in the EU and India.
