Infinix could be borrowing design cues from Nothing for its next phone

Smartphone tech has peaked. We’re at that point where any gains in performance feels marginal and borderline pointless since there isn’t much the average person does on their phone that would require that much power.

This is why for companies who are new to the scene, design is probably a good place to compete on, which is what Nothing did with its Nothing Phone series, and now it looks like the design might have caught Infinix’s attention as the company’s next smartphone, the Infinix GT 10 series, seems to have borrowed some design cues.

As you can see in the image above, the upcoming Infinix GT 10 Pro and GT 10 Pro+ could be adopting a new transparent back design complete with dancing LED lights, which Nothing calls “glyphs”. We’re not sure what Infinix will name the feature, but presumably it should share similar functionality.

In the Nothing Phone series, the LED lights are more than just decoration. It’s used as notification lights that can flash and change color according to the notification, making it a fun and unique way of letting people know what kind of notifications they received without having to look at the phone.

We have to admit that the feature is gimmicky and not really our cup of tea, but from a design standpoint, it’s actually kind of nice, especially since most phones these days tend to look very similar, especially when you slap a case on it. Infinix hasn’t announced the new phones yet, but it is expected to be launched in August.
