A while back, we got word that Samsung is planning to launch a new smart tag within the year, with early predictions stating that we might see the new product by Q3 2023. With that in mind, a new image of the Samsung Galaxy SmartTag 2 has appeared online, giving us a glimpse at the revamped design.
Based on the photo that we’ve seen, it looks like the new Smarttag design will come with a more rounded shape, compared to the squared-off design of the previous generation. It will also come with a larger keyhole, at least according to the leaked image.
It’s also worth mentioning that the new SmartTag has been spotted via an FCC application, and includes support for Bluetooth LE and UWB (Ultra-Wide Band) connectivity. There’s no specific launch date or price yet, but we imagine more details could pop up soon.
Currently, Apple leads the competition for smart tag accessories, thanks to big sales of its Airtag series. On the other hand, it will be interesting to see how the new Galaxy SmartTag performs once it becomes available for retail.
