For its Galaxy S23 series, Samsung ditched the use of the Exynos chipsets and went all in on Qualcomm. But it seems that it might not have been a permanent decision because if the latest rumors are true, the Exynos chipsets are set to make a return in the Galaxy S24 for the Korean market.
This is based on Korean media reports in which they claim that the Exynos 2400 chipset could be used in the Korean market, as well as the European and Southeast Asian markets, which seems to be in line with how Samsung distributed its Exynos chipsets in previous flagship phones.
Samsung’s Exynos chipsets have faced a lot of criticism over the years, namely on how it pales in comparison to Qualcomm’s chipsets. This wouldn’t be much of an issue if all of its phones were powered by Exynos, but seeing as how customers don’t get to choose and how everyone is essentially paying the same price, many have seen this move as being unfair.
That could change with the Exynos 2400 though. Rumors of the chipset are claiming that it could be a beast in performance, where it is rumored to sport a deca-core design which in theory would allow it to outperform Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Only time will tell if this is true so take it with a grain of salt for now.
