After a period of beta testing, Nothing has finally confirmed that its latest Nothing OS 2 platform update will be available for the Nothing Phone 1, after previously rolling out for the newer Phone 2 model. The update’s status was confirmed by a post from CEO Carl Pei, via his official social media page.
Previously, Nothing also released the Nothing OS 2.0.2 software update for the Phone 2. Nothing OS 2.0.2 packs several fixes and new features, including enhancements to the device’s camera quality and performance, battery and thermal management, a more recent security patch, and fixes to bugs including the Google Wallet app, Bluetooth connectivity, and the “Double Tap to Wake” feature, to name a few.
We've now began rolling out Nothing OS 2 for Phone (1). Thanks for everyone's patience! As our capabilities strengthen, we'll be able to pull in the time gap over time.

With that in mind, we might see some differences with the Nothing OS 2 version update for the Phone 1, though it should largely remain very similar overall.
The Nothing Phone 1 was originally launched back in 2022, and came with a unique LED lighting system referred to as the “Glyph Interface.” This design eventually made its way over to the Nothing Phone 2, which remained mostly the same aside from some specific upgrades.
