Some underestimate the importance of a bright smartphone display. While many of us probably don’t crank our phone’s screens to its max brightness, having a bright display is important.
This is because under direct sunlight, a super bright display will make it easier for us to see our phones and use it, so the good news is that if you’re thinking of picking up the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, you might be interested to learn that tipster Ice Universe has revealed that the handset could be packing an insanely bright display of up to 2,500 nits peak brightness.

This is versus the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, which is arguably one of the best Android phones of 2023, but only has a display that can go up to a max brightness of 1,750 nits. If this rumor is accurate, the new display Samsung will be using will add an additional 750 nits which should make it kind of obvious.
Once again, you probably won’t use the screen at max brightness, but with the max ceiling being raised, users have more options when it comes to adjusting their display’s brightness. The Samsung Galaxy S24 series will only be announced in the early part of 2024, so we still have a few more months of waiting to see if the rumors are true.
