We have to admit that when we first heard rumors of the Samsung Exynos 2400 chipsets, we were kind of excited. This would be the first mobile chipset to feature a deca-core design, indicating that it could be quite powerful. It seemed like it had the potential to even the playing field between Samsung and Qualcomm.
Unfortunately, there might be some bad news regarding its performance. In a post by user @MappleGold, they are claiming that the GPU in the Exynos 2400, the Xclipse 940, will apparently perform worse than the GPU that will be inside the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
The continuous performance of the GPU chip can still be said to be bad, optimization is still being done, and the performance is not impressive, this is not all a fabrication problem, but the GPU design itself.

Apparently this has less to do with the fabrication of the GPU, but rather the design of the GPU itself. We’re not sure how much worse it will perform against the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, but this doesn’t sound good. Samsung is expected to return to using both Qualcomm and Exynos chipsets for its Galaxy S24 series which is launching in early 2024.
This has been the company’s practice for years, save for this year where they went exclusively with Qualcomm’s chipsets. Prior to that, many have criticized Samsung’s decision to go with Exynos as the performance of the chipset wasn’t on par with Qualcomm, despite the fact that some users had no choice but were still paying the same price as everyone else.
Needless to say as this is a rumor, you should definitely take it with a grain of salt until the official announcements are made and we can better test it for ourselves.
