Google will be hosting an event on the 4th of October where the Pixel 8 smartphone will be officially announced. But it looks like a couple of days ahead of the official launch, someone managed to get their hands on the device and did a short unboxing video, showing us what to expect.
The video does not turn on the phone so we can’t get a look at the software and see what kind of new features Google will be bringing to the table, but it does seem to confirm the design and the use of two-tone look where the camera module will have a similar-ish color to the body of the phone except in a lighter shade.
This is versus the Pixel 7 phones where the camera module looks the same across the different color options. The unboxing also shows us what to expect inside of the box. There is no charger, but Google has included a Quick Switch adapter that will help with data transfer, along with a USB-C to USB-C cable.
Otherwise the phone looks pretty nice. It looks sleek and shiny but we’ll have to wait for the official launch on the 4th of October to get a better idea of what else we can expect and how much it will cost.
