Solid build quality
Right off the bat based on the specs of the laptop, it is obvious that this is not the most powerful laptop around. The main selling point of this laptop is its price, where at $359 it is honestly quite a steal. But despite its super affordable price, the ACEMAGIC AX15 actually features a pretty solid build.
The chassis of the laptop is made using aluminum. While a lot of higher-end, more premium laptops use this material, we usually find that when it comes to the more budget offerings, plastic tends to be the material of choice, so it’s actually nice to see that the company has opted to use aluminum here.
This results in a laptop that feels robust and sturdy in the hands while giving it a premium look and feel.
The laptop also comes with a host of input ports for connectivity purposes, so if you want to attach an external drive, a wired mouse or keyboard, a set of speakers or headphones, you can. There’s also a TF slot which you can use to further expand on the storage. The company has also included a HDMI port if you wish to hook it up to a larger external monitor.
There will also be a built-in 720p webcam that should be good enough for video conferencing.
Performance
Under the hood, the ACEMAGIC AX15 is powered by Intel’s 12th Gen Alder Lake N95 CPU. This will offer users good enough performance for day-to-day productivity tasks like putting together documents, spreadsheets, sending out emails, chatting, surfing the web, and watching videos.
As for those who want to maybe play games or render videos, there is no discrete GPU, unfortunately. However, the fact that it does use the Intel 12th Gen Alder Lake N95 means that it does have its own onboard GPU in the form of the Intel UHD Graphics Xe. This should be good enough for extremely light gaming, but do manage your expectations.
The laptop is also accompanied by 16GB of DDR4 RAM, and the use of the 512GB M.2 NVMe SSD storage means that boot up time, reading and writing files to the laptop should be pretty fast. There does not appear to be an option to configure it to sport more storage, but like we mentioned previously, the TF slot will let you expand its storage, or alternatively you can always rely on external drives.
In terms of cooling, ACEMAGIC has equipped the laptop with a smart silent fan and cooling copper tube. This combined with the aluminum base will help the laptop remain cool and silent even under heavier loads. We have to say we like the way the company designed the base of the laptop where its raised rubber feet and cooling vents help provide more efficient cooling.
Awesome battery life
Apart from its very affordable price, another selling point of the ACEMAGIC AX15 would be its battery life. The company claims that users can expect up to 8 hours of battery life on a single charge, which is pretty awesome.
This is great for students or business users who are constantly on the go and don’t have time to sit down and find a power outlet to charge their laptops. With up to 8 hours of battery life, you should be able to get through an entire day’s of use before it runs out of juice.
Also, the thin and light design of the laptop means that if you need to travel on the plane, you can bring it with you and use it to watch movies and not have to worry about the battery dying on you halfway through your favorite show.
