The latest rumors surrounding the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is that it will come with a super bright display. But it seems that OnePlus might beat Samsung at their own game, at least according to a post on Weibo by tipster Digital Chat Station.
The tipster claims that the OnePlus 12 will feature a brand new display made by BOE that will apparently be capable of hitting peak brightness of 2,600 nits. For context, the rumors of the Galaxy S24 Ultra’s display claim that its peak brightness will be 2,500 nits, so the OnePlus 12 will edge it out ever so slightly.
We’re not sure if the difference of 100 nits will be that obvious, but at the very least the OnePlus 12 should have a wider dynamic range when it comes to the display brightness. The post also claims that the display size of the phone is 6.82-inches and will be slightly curved, and will also sport a resolution of 3168×1440 and a refresh rate of 120Hz.
Needless to say that without the official word, you should take this with a grain of salt. OnePlus is also rumored to launch the OnePlus 12 in December starting in China and could be one of the first few phones to feature the use of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, which will then be followed up with a global launch possibly in January 2024.
