If you’re a person who can speak multiple languages and you also happen to own a Pixel 7, you might have been feeling a little left out when it was revealed that Google Assistant on the Pixel 8 supports multiple language inputs when using voice input for Gboard. It turns out you won’t have to feel too jealous for too long as the feature will be coming to the Pixel 7 soon.
This is according to Google’s help page in which they mention that multi-language support will be making its way to the Pixel 7 in a future update. There is no mention of whether it will come to older Pixel devices like the Pixel 6, so we’ll just have to wait and see.
For those unfamiliar with the feature, when Google launched its Pixel 8 phones earlier this month, they introduced a bunch of new AI features, one of which was the ability for Google Assistant to be able to detect the language spoken by the user without the user having to manually switch languages in the settings every time when they’re trying to use their voice to type out messages on Gboard.
This is perfect for those who speak multiple languages and may want to make the switch every now and then.
There are many parts of the world where people have the ability to speak more than one language at once, and can seamlessly switch between English and their mother tongue. With this new Google Assistant feature, users will now have more options when it comes to conversing with the virtual assistant.
Google does not mention when the feature will be rolled out for the Pixel 7 so we’ll just have to wait and see.
