Qualcomm’s newest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 flagship processor is finally here, and it brings some impressive new landmarks in terms of mobile performance. After all, given the high standard set by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and 8 Gen 2, it’s only natural to expect top-tier quality from the 8 Gen 3.
Developed with TSMC’s 4nm process, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 offers some considerable improvements over its predecessor, including power efficiency and performance – this can also be seen via the chipset’s performance scores, which were conducted by Qualcomm using different benchmark sites. While it’s important to note that benchmarks aren’t everything, they still give useful insight as to what we can expect from the SoC.
As such, the 8 Gen 3 was able to score within a range of 2320-2329 with GeekBench ST, 7439-7526 on GeekBench MT, 2.13M-2.14M via AnTuTu, and a range of 21125-21628 with PCMark. These score ranges were observed via three different variations during testing, and conducted in UI Performance Mode.
For AI performance, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 was also able to score between a range of 1427613-1457097 with AITuTu, and 238479-240147 on AIMark (AI testing was also done with three variations in UI Performance Mode) Given the focus on incorporating AI features in smartphones over the past few years, it’s exciting to see this level of performance in a mobile SoC, to say the least.
With that being said, a couple of benchmark results have already appeared online via Nanoreview – a test carried out on AnTuTu 10 yielded an overall socre of 1895624, while a Geekbench 6 test yielded a single core score of 2192, and multicore score of 7085.
