Voice messages in Google Messages will soon sound a lot clearer

0

One of the benefits to sending voice messages is that you can send long messages a lot faster than if you were to type it out. It’s useful if you don’t want any confusion or if you don’t have a lot of time but still need to reply.

If you’re someone who uses Google Messages frequently, then you might be interested to learn that a report from TheSpAndroid has revealed that in the latest beta of the app, Google has introduced noise suppression when sending voice messages.

This is pretty much as the name describes, where the feature will now suppress any background noise so that your voice can come through clearer. This will come in handy if you’re in a particularly noisy place like a bar, club, busy cafe, and you still want to send voice messages but don’t want your message to sound distorted because the background noise is too much.

Based on the screenshots of the beta, it seems that this is a feature that users will have to enable or disable manually, as opposed to it acting automatically whenever voice messages are sent. We’re not sure why this isn’t a feature that is automatically enabled, but maybe Google just wants to give users a choice.

The report from TheSpAndroid claims that this feature pretty much works as advertised, so if you’re someone who uses voice messages with Google Messages, then this is an update you can look forward to.
