Could We See a “Budget-Friendly” Nothing Phone Soon?

Nothing’s launch of the Phone 1 and Phone 2 these past couple of years has shown that there’s still room on the market for more midrange-oriented phones, without the need to compromise on hardware and performance. With that in mind, it’s rumored that the company might launch an even more wallet-friendly handset, which could compete with Google’s A-series Pixel phones.

An online post from leaker Sanju Choudhary claims that Nothing is working on an affordable Nothing Phone model, which might end up being called as the “Nothing Phone 2a.”

The post claims that the phone will come with model number “AIN142,” and will include hardware features such as a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a central hole-punch design, and will retain the transparent design that’s been a signature feature of Nothing’s Android phones.

With that in mind, there’s no word yet on possible pricing, as well as availability. But given the speed and frequency of leaks these days, it shouldn’t be surprising to see additional info on the Phone 2a, should it be confirmed to be true.

Nothing recently made headlines after backtracking on its planned iMessage app, which was pulled from the Google Play Store due to security and privacy issues. The app was developed in collaboration with Sunbird, but has since been put on hold without a definite launch date.
