The OnePlus 12 has been launched, but you won’t be able to get it just yet

OnePlus had previously teased that they would be announcing the OnePlus 12 today, and sure enough they did.

The OnePlus 12 is the successor to the OnePlus 11 that was launched earlier this year, which means that instead of waiting until 2024, OnePlus has decided to bring forward its launch date.

As expected, the OnePlus 12 will be packing Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, making it one of the earlier handsets to use the new technology from Qualcomm. It also packs up to 24GB of RAM, which is honestly kind of overkill, but the option is there for those who might need it.

The phone will also come with a 6.82-inch display with a 3168×1440 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, along with a peak brightness of 4,500 nits which is rather insane, but great for those who are outdoors often under direct sunlight and where a bright display can come in handy.

On the camera front, the OnePlus 12 will feature a 48MP main shooter, a 48MP ultrawide, and a 64MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom. This is essentially the same as the OnePlus Open, which we were pretty impressed with, so unless the software has changed, you should be able to expect similar levels of performance.

The OnePlus 12 will also come with a 5,400mAh battery. This is larger than the OnePlus 11 by 400mAh, and it will support 100W charging, so while battery size has increased, charging speeds haven’t. Then again, 100W is still pretty damn fast so it’s hard to complain about that.

As for pricing and availability, the OnePlus 12 will be priced starting at around $600 for the base model, and up to $800 for the 24GB of RAM with 1TB storage model. It seems that it is only available in China now, but the rumors claim that we might see a global launch come January 2024.
