Razer’s appearance at the Consumer Electronics Showcase (CES) 2024 in Las Vegas didn’t involve pulling back punches – in fact, the computer manufacturer showcased its latest wave of Blade-series laptops, which it describes as a “testament of dedication to lead through innovation.” Three laptops were announced, which consist of the Razer Blade 14, 16, and the 18.
Blade 16 & 14
First up is the Razer Blade 16, which packs a 16-inch OLED display with a 240Hz refresh rate, 2560×1600 resolution, 0.2ms response time, DCI-P3 100% color gamut, as well as VESA ClearMR 11000 and DisplayHDR True Black 500 certifications. It also comes with the Intel Core i9-14900HX, support for NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 Graphics, alongside NVIDIA’s AI-powered DLSS 3.
The Blade 16 comes with a function that can easily switch between UDH+ 120Hz and FHD+ 240Hz, one of the more versatile features that we’ve seen on a Razer laptop.
Meanwhile, the Razer Blade 14 is a more compact option thanks to its 140inch display, although it doesn’t necessarily sacrifice performance – the Blade 14 comes with the AMD Ryzen 9 8945HS processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Laptop Graphics, as well as a battery that the company says can last for up to ten hours of usage.
Going back to its display, the Blade 14 features a 16:10 aspect ratio with QHD+ resolution, a 240Hz refresh rate, support for USB4 and Wi-Fi 7 connectivity, in addition to upgradable DDR5 memory. The Razer Blade 16 is available starting at $2999.99, while the Blade 14 will be available for pre-order starting on January 23.
Razer Blade 18
Unlike the 14 and 16, Razer hasn’t fully unveiled the Blade 18 just yet. The company says that it’s scheduled to launch later this year, although availability and pricing still remain a mystery at the moment. Razer did tease some specs, though – the Blade 18 features an 18-inch 4K display, a 165Hz refresh rate, and support for features such as Thunderbolt5 connectivity, for example. Of course, fans will have to be a bit more patient should they want to go for the highest-end 2024-series Blade laptop.
