The market is flooded with true wireless earbuds at the moment, thanks largely in part to smartphone makers who have mostly ditched the 3.5mm headphone jack, forcing consumers and manufacturers to start adopting wireless headphones and earbuds as a result.
It’s not a bad thing. True wireless earbuds do away with cables completely making it a seamless and more comfortable experience. If you’re someone who wears earbuds all day, maybe for work where you spend a lot of time making calls or attending virtual meetings, or you just enjoy the peace and privacy that it offers, then the EKSAtelecom S30 earbuds could be worth checking out.
Open-ear air conduction design
When it comes to earbuds, there are a few types of designs. There are some that sit closer in your ear canals, which is good if you’re looking to reduce background noise and enjoy your music or videos better, but the problem with such designs is that it can lead to listening fatigue due to the build up of pressure.
This is less than ideal, especially if you’re someone that uses earbuds all day. With the EKSAtelecom S30, the company has designed it to be an open-ear air conduction design. This means that the earbuds don’t go all the way into your ear canal, which when used for prolonged periods of time will offer a more comfortable experience.
As we mentioned earlier, the S30 isn’t really designed to compete against other consumer earbuds and is more of a communications kind of earbuds where people working in the office and attending virtual meetings might use, or if you’re at a call center and need to deal with customers all day.
This doesn’t mean that you can’t use it for leisure as the S30s do feature TubeBass Technology that will still allow your music and videos to sound great. Plus, they’re also IPX5 resistant, so if you want to use them at the gym, you can without having to worry about sweat damaging them.
Long-range connectivity
One of the problems of many wireless earbuds and headsets is its range. This means that if you walk away from the source, after a certain distance, the audio will start dropping and cutting in and out, and if you walk away even further, the connection will just drop completely.
While chances are most of us keep our phones close to us, sometimes having that freedom to move about wherever you please is a good thing. With the EKSAtelecom S30, the company claims that the earbuds have a pretty long range of up to 30 meters or 99 feet, thanks to the use of Bluetooth 5.3 technology.
So maybe if you’re the type that likes to wander around their home or office while on a call, but your phone or laptop is in another room, the S30 should give you the freedom to move about without you having to worry about the connection dropping.
Noise-canceling microphone
Now, it is clear that unlike other commercially available earbuds, the EKSAtelecom S30 is designed more for communications purposes. This is thanks to the very obvious microphone attached to the earbuds that sits closer to your mouth to better allow your voice to go through, as opposed to other headsets where the microphones are positioned elsewhere.
If you find yourself having to be on the phone a lot, such as speaking with customers or suppliers, then this is where the S30 truly shines. The microphone in the earbuds isn’t just a single microphone. EKSAtelecom has actually built-in four noise-canceling beamforming microphones, which when combined with the use of AI-powered Environmental Noise Cancellation technology, can identify voices, such as yours, and suppress up to 99.9% of background noise.
In fact, the company claims that the S30 has one of the highest noise-cancellation amongst other competing headsets, coming in at 54dB which is honestly pretty damn impressive.
So whether you want to use these earbuds at your office desk, or while on the go, or if you’re outside in a loud environment like a cafe, you don’t have to worry about your voice not being picked up or carried through to the person on the other end of the line.
Amazing battery life
While wireless earbuds are all the rage these days, and it’s not hard to see why, this also means that instead of having to deal with tangled cables, we’ll now have to contend with battery life.
Thankfully, the EKSAtelecom S30 earbuds appear to pack some pretty long-lasting batteries. According to the company, it offers up to 9 hours of talk time or 16 hours of music playback time per charge, and pairing it with the charging case will allow you to get over 70 hours worth of battery.
Depending on how long and how often you use the earbuds, 70+ hours should be able to get you more than a week’s use, which is pretty amazing. Also, in a pinch if you need a bit of extra battery life, you can charge it for 5 minutes and get an extra 1 hour of use out of them.
Pricing & availability
If you’re interested in picking up the EKSAtelecom S30 earbuds, the company is currently raising funds on Kickstarter where if you pledge now, you can grab a pair at its early bird pricing of $109 which is a 45% discount off its RRP. If you’d rather wait for the earbuds to be fully backed, then the price of the earbuds will go up to $199, so it might be a good time to get in on the Kickstarter project to save yourself a bit of money. The company also expects to be able to deliver the earbuds come March 2024.
