After several months’ worth of rumors surrounding the Nintendo Switch’s successor, it appears that a new report claims that the console will launch at a much later date than anticipated. More specifically, it’s suspected that the Switch 2 will make its debut in Q1 2025, which is quite a departure from earlier predictions.
The report comes by way of Brazilian games journalist Pedro Henrique Lutti Lippe, who claims that Nintendo is planning to release its next console in Q1 2025, which still falls within the 2024 financial year. The information is based on development sources which are now targeting that timeframe for the console’s launch.
A while back, there was word that the Switch 2 might be launched this year, based on a statement from Altec Lansing – according to the brand, Nintendo has not officially confirmed the release date for the Nintendo Switch 2 but suggests a launch in Fall 2024. There were also earlier claims that Nintendo has shown the Switch 2’s hardware to developers behind closed doors – early reports from the Video Games Chronicle (VGC) indicate that partner studios already have their hands on development kits for the upcoming system.
Of course at this point anything goes, that is unless Nintendo gives any official mention of its upcoming console launch plans.
