Earlier this year during the official announcement of the Samsung Galaxy S24 smartphones, Samsung also confirmed the existence of its smart ring. We’ve been hearing rumors that Samsung was developing a smart ring, and at the end of the event, the company teased the design.
As to when the device will be announced, a report from ETNews has suggested that the Galaxy Ring will be announced at Samsung’s second Galaxy Unpacked event later this year. Samsung usually hosts a couple of Galaxy Unpacked events a year. One is usually for its Galaxy S-series of flagships, and the other is for its foldables.
Assuming that this report is correct, the Galaxy Ring could be announced alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6. The event could also see Samsung introduce a more affordable foldable phone.
Not much is known about the wearable right now, but seeing as there aren’t too many smart rings in the market, the Oura might be a good indication of what we might be able to expect. Needless to say this should be taken with a grain of salt, but if you’re interested in a smart ring more than a smartwatch, then the Galaxy Ring could be worth keeping an eye out for.
