In the past few months, it has been a badly kept secret that Samsung is working on the Galaxy Fit 3. We’ve seen numerous rumors and leaks. For those who are looking forward to the device, the wait is finally over as Samsung has since officially announced the Galaxy Fit 3 fitness tracker.
If you have been following the rumors and leaks, there’s nothing new here that wasn’t previously covered. If you haven’t, the Galaxy Fit 3 is quite a significant upgrade over its predecessor. For one, the display is larger at 1.6-inches. Samsung says it’s 45% wider than the Fit 2.
Samsung is also introducing new software features in the device. This includes Fall Detection and Emergency SOS. These features weren’t available in previous models. The built-in battery is 208mAh which Samsung claims will last for up to 13 days on a single charge. This is actually slightly less than the Fit 2, but presumably the larger display is to blame.
Other fitness and health features of the tracker include sleep monitoring tools, a blood oxygen monitor, and a heart rate tracker. It also offers workout tracking and has a 5ATM and IP68 rating, so going swimming or gymming with it won’t be an issue. At the moment the Samsung Galaxy Fit 3 is only available in Asia, Europe, Central America, and South America. There is no word on pricing but we should have more details soon.
