While a lot of the tech landscape is focused on Apple’s Vision Pro headset at the moment, it should be said that other manufacturers with their own VR/AR headsets have continued to push support and updates for their respective products. As such, Sony recently announced that it’s currently in the process of testing PS VR2 support for PC.
The update was mentioned by Sony itself in its latest PlayStation blog update, alongside the announcement of several upcoming games including Zombie Army VR, Little Cities: Bigger!, Wanderer: The Fragments of Fate, The Wizards – Dark Times: Brotherhood, and more. As per Sony’s announcement:
“Also, we’re pleased to share that we are currently testing the ability for PS VR2 players to access additional games on PC to offer even more game variety in addition to the PS VR2 titles available through PS5. We hope to make this support available in 2024, so stay tuned for more updates.”
Launched in 2023, the PS VR2 is designed to work with Sony’s PlayStation 5 console. With that being said, there’s no definite launch date for PC compatibility with the PS VR2, so fans looking forward to the feature will have to wait a bit until Sony gives us a further update.
