Samsung will use AI to compensate for the Galaxy S25 battery

If you were hoping that the Samsung Galaxy S25 would see an upgrade in the battery department, think again. A recent report suggested that due to cost cutting, Samsung will continue using the same 5,000mAh battery design as its predecessor, the Galaxy S24. But it looks like Samsung might have a solution, which is to rely on AI for battery management for the Galaxy S25.

According to a post on X by user PandaFlash, they are claiming that Samsung will use a new feature called “Battery AI” in the Galaxy S25 smartphones. As you might have already surmised, this will use AI technology to improve battery life in the phones. The post does not share details on how the feature will work.

If we had to guess, it will probably involve smarter management of apps and background tasks. Platforms such as Android already have battery management tools. But presumably the use of AI will make these tools smarter. The post claims that users can expect this feature to extend battery life by 5-10%.

It’s not a particularly huge amount, but if it gives users an extra hour or two, it could come in handy. Ideally we would have preferred a larger battery, but this could be a good alternative. Samsung has yet to confirm anything so take it with a grain of salt. Also, the feature will debut with the Galaxy S25, so don’t expect to hear about it anytime soon.
