Humane AI Founders Reportedly Looking for Buyer after Disastrous Launch

0

Remember the Humane AI pin? For those unfamiliar, tech startup Humane promised a revolutionary AI-powered wearable that would change the way users interact with apps, the internet, and everything in between. While the premise had potential, the execution left much to be desired, as the Humane AI Pin launched to poor critical reception on account of price and poor performance, to say the least.

With that in mind, new reports suggest that company founders Imran Chaudhri and Bethany Bongiorno are looking to sell the company’s business, offering it for around “$750 million and $1 billion,” which might not be an easy task given the lacklustre reviews on the device. In terms of hardware, the AI Pin included features like a magnetic clip-on design, a gesture-based control system, and a mini projector which displayed the user interface.

As for actual usability however, many noted that the laser projector was barely visible when outdoors, the software occasionally logged users out, and battery life was barely enough to last a day (not to mention the overheating issues). That’s not including the 700-dollar price tag and monthly subscription fees that came along with it.

With all that being said, Humane might have a tough time trying to find a new home for its flagship product, especially with big names in the industry each focusing on their own home-baked AI efforts.
