At this point we’ve gotten a ton of Google Pixel 9 leaks just a month before the official launch event, and the leaks aren’t slowing down anytime soon – in fact, new hands-on photos show the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9, confirming some design details that were first seen a month ago.
Based on footage from “Pixophone” (via TikTok), it looks Google will continue implementing the design differences between its base model and Pro model Pixels – as such, the Pixel 9 Pro will feature a matte back design with glossy sides, while the regular Pixel 9 will come with a glossy back with a matte frame.
The existence of glossy design accents has proved to be divisive at times, with some users preferring the all-matte look seen on the Pixel 8a, for example. Interestingly, the footage does not include the smaller Pixel 9 Pro model, although some are speculating that it will a similar design to the larger Pro, albeit in an obviously smaller package.
In any case, we should know all the full details about the new Pixel phones once Google pushes forward with its launch event, which is scheduled later in August.
