Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra leaked specs suggest no change in battery

0

When Samsung launched the Galaxy S24 Ultra, we’re sure we weren’t alone in being disappointed that there was essentially no change in the battery size or charging speeds. If you were hoping Samsung would correct this for the battery of the Galaxy S25 Ultra, be prepared for disappointment.

According to a post on Weibo by tipster Digital Chat Station, it seems that the Galaxy S25 Ultra will not see any change in the battery or charging speed department. The post claims that Samsung is still expected to use a 5,000mAh battery and the charging speeds will remain the same at 45W.

If this is true, it is very, very disappointing. For context, the past three generations of Samsung’s Galaxy S Ultra series have all had the same 5,000mAh batteries. They also had the same 45W charging. This is versus competing phones which are packing larger batteries and have much faster charging speeds.

We did hear rumors that Samsung could rely on AI to improve battery life, but honestly, we’d rather have a physically larger battery. We’re not sure why Samsung doesn’t seem too eager to improve the battery life of its phones. Perhaps they’re hoping that the other specs and features will be good enough for customers to overlook its battery. Either way, take it with a grain of salt for now as we’re still months away from an official announcement.
