The Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 was released not too long ago. Unfortunately for early adopters, it seems that there is a battery issue with the smartwatch. Galaxy Watch 7 owners are reporting that the smartwatch is draining battery at quite an alarming rate. The good news is that a fix is in the works.
According to a post on the Samsung Community forums in Korea, a Samsung rep says that they are aware of the issue. They also point out that Samsung has already identified the problem and that an update is being worked on that should address the issue. They don’t mention when the update will be released, except to say it will be “soon”.
This is kind of annoying. Samsung didn’t bother to give the Galaxy Watch 7 a battery upgrade over its predecessor. So you would expect both wearables to last the same amount of time at the very least. Both the Watch 6 and Watch 7 sport the same 425mAh battery, but yet the Watch 7 seems to be draining faster. Some users are reporting that they don’t even get a day’s worth of battery life before it dies.
Thankfully, this is a software issue and not a hardware one. Hopefully the upcoming update will fix this problem for good. We’ll keep our eyes peeled for when Samsung does eventually release a patch.
