The arrival of Google’s “Circle to Search” feature on its Pixel devices has certainly provided a new and faster way for users to streamline their Google image search sessions, allowing them to essentially look up and even translate anything on their home screen. With that being said, the feature has since been available for other Android devices such as ones from Samsung, although it was initially available for the Galaxy S23 and S24 series phones, for example.
Fortunately though, Samsung recently announced that it has been working with Google to bring Circle to Search to more Samsung handsets – more specifically, several Galaxy A-series and Galaxy Tab S9 FE models are scheduled to receive the update. TM Roh, President and Head of Mobile eXperience Business at Samsung comments:
These updates unlock new possibilities for the Galaxy A series and Galaxy Tab S9 FE series and reinforce our commitment to providing cutting-edge technology for more Galaxy users. We are dedicated to bringing best-in-class AI technology to a broader audience, empowering users with the option to work more efficiently, create more freely and enjoy richer, more personalized interactions with their devices.
The feature arrives on August 22, and will be available for several devices including the Galaxy A34 5G, A35 5G and A54 5G, as well as the Galaxy Tab S9 FE and Tab S9 FE+. Once the feature is available on your phone, using it is pretty simple:
- Tap and hold the home button icon (or navigation bar)
- Use your finger to draw a circle or tap on the object of interest
- Once you’ve made your selection, your phone will then process your search query
