Word on the street is that Samsung is planning a slimmer version of the Galaxy Z Fold 6. So far not much is known about the device, except that it will be about 2mm thinner the current model. But it turns out that it could actually be more than that, where the rumors suggest that the Galaxy Z Fold Slim could come with hardware upgrades.
According to a post on X by tipster Evan Blass, it seems that the Galaxy Z Fold Slim could come with an upgrade to its camera. The post suggests that its main camera might be upgraded to a 200MP sensor. For context, the current Galaxy Z Fold 6 has a main 50MP camera, so the jump to 200MP is quite significant.
Other than that, we’re not sure what else could be new. We’re also not sure if going up to 200MP is a real upgrade. Higher resolution sensors are great, but unless you plan to make huge prints, you probably can’t tell the difference too much when viewed on your phone or on social media.
This is because images posted to social media or sent via messaging apps tend to be compressed, leading to a reduction in overall quality. A recent rumor also suggested that Samsung could rename the device. Instead of it being called the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim, it could be called the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition.
