Google Search will now show you archived web pages
Web pages, for the most part, aren’t static. They’re constantly changing and updated. Phandroid is a good example of that. The front page you’re seeing now will be different tomorrow. But if you’re looking for a particularly old website, you’re in luck as Google Search will now show archived web pages in its results.
According to an announcement by the Internet Archive, Google Search will make it easier for users to find web pages from the past. Through the search results, users will be able to access archived websites via the Wayback Machine.
In the past, if users wanted to find an archived version of a website, they’d have to go to one of several websites that has an archive of these sites. The Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine is one of them. Since not everyone is familiar with this, having it in Google’s search results will make it simpler.
Users who want to access these archived pages from the search results will have to click the three-dot menu next to the result, click on “More about this page”, and there will be a link to the Wayback Machine. This archive feature is being rolled out as we speak. It will also support as many as 40 languages for now.
