Wear OS 5 is rolling out to older Pixel Watches

0

If you happen to own the original Pixel Watch or the Pixel Watch 2, we have some good news for you. It looks like Google has released the Wear OS 5 update for those devices, so you can check it out as the new features and improvements should breathe new life into your smartwatch.

One of those new features is the Recorder app. The app was originally supposed to be an exclusive feature to the Pixel Watch 3. In case the name itself wasn’t already obvious, it allows your Pixel Watch to act as a recorder, which could be useful for recording conversations, lectures, and so on.

Combine this with the transcription feature on your Pixel phone and you should be able to quickly convert your recordings to text. The update also brings about improved Camera controls and a new grid-view app launcher, which could be useful for those who have many apps and want a neater way of viewing them.

The rollout of the update has started so you should be able to get it soon enough. Google typically pushes out updates in stages so if you don’t see it yet, don’t worry it should eventually make its way to you.
